Princeton University Materials Academy
The Material Science Honors program started on July 27, 2009 at Bowen Hall, on the campus of Princeton University. Students attended lectures on ceramics, water filtration, solar ovens and the Globial Science Project. Students were also trained to use the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and witnessed semicoductor production in a "clean room". Students also toured the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab (PPPL) and Universal Display Corporation as well as attended Professor Scherer's walking lecture tour on water and environmental damage on campus buildings.

SCIENCE OUTREACH
The future of America's strength in science and technology depends on the interest and proficiency of our nation's youth, school teachers, and the general public in math, science, and engineering. The Material Science Honors program is dedicated to promoting scientific and technological literacy. They has developed and implemented a number of educational programs through the establishment of unique partnerships between University scientists, K-12 educators and the local and global science community.
